YOGYAKARTA SPECIAL REGION ELECTRICITY SUPPLY PLAN

Electricity Condition
           Electricity system of Yogyakarta Special Region constitutes part of Java-Bali interconnection system. The main supply of electricity in Yogyakarta Special Region comes from 500 kV and 150 kV transmission systems. Peak utilization in 2011 reached 453,10 MW.
Total installed capacity of power plants in Yogyakarta Special Region up to 2011 was 0.32 MW namely that of Hydro Power Plant Talang Krasak. Total electricity sale for Yogyakarta Special Region in 2011 was 1,870 GWh.

Energy Potentials
Yogyakarta Special Region is estimated to have thermal potentials of 10 MWe in 1 location namely Parangtritis-Gunung Kidul.

 Electricity Demand Estimate

It is estimated that demand for electricity in Yogyakarta Special Region for the period 2012-2031 shall grow averagely by 10.8% per year so that in 2031 electricity need is expected to reach 14.3 TWh. To fulfill peak utilization growth of averagely around 10.5% per year until 2031, then additional power of averagely around 160 MW per year shall be needed.
