For those who are interested in developing power plants in Bali, I would
like to share the following points with regard to the above subject. Warm
regards.
Electricity Condition
Demand for electricity in Bali mainly is supplied
by
Java electricity
system
through
150 kV underwater cable transmission network. In
addition to it, electricity need is also fulfilled by local power plants namely
Diesel/Gas
Power Plants Pesanggaran, Gas Power Plants Gilimanuk, and Gas Power Plants
Pemaron. Peak utilization in 2011 reached 461.78 MW.
Total installed capacity of power plants in Bali up to 2011 was 562.96 MW
consisting of Gas Power Plants 355.85 MW, Diesel Power Plants 205.40 MW, Micro Hydro Power
Plants 0.03 MW, Wind Power Plants 0.66 MW, and Solar
Power Plants 1.02 MW. Total electricity sale for Bali in 2011 reached 3,224 GWh.
Energy Potentials
Bali is estimated to have thermal potentials of 296 MWe, scattered
in 5 locations
namely
Banyuwedang Buleleng, Seririt Buleleng, Batukao Tabanan, Penebel Tabanan, and Buyan-Bratan
Buleleng.
Electricity Demand Estimate
It is projected that demand for electricity in Bali for the period
2012-2031 shall grow averagely by 11.2% per year so that in 2031 electricity need is expected to reach 27.1 TWh. To fulfill peak utilization growth of averagely around 10.9% per year until 2031, then additional power of averagely around 308 MW per year shall
be needed.
