For those who are interested in developing power plants in Banten, I would like to share the following points with regard to the above subject. Best regards.

Electricity Condition
Electricity system of Banten constitutes part of Java-Bali 500 kV and 150 kV interconnection transmission systems. Other than that, electricity need of Banten is supplied by local Steam and Steam Gas Power Plants. Peak utilization in 2011 reached 2,168.09 MW. Total installed capacity of power plants in Banten up to 2011 was 6,080 MW consisting of Steam Power Plants 5,340 MW and Steam Gas Power Plants 740 MW. Total electricity sale for Banten in 2011 was 7,274 GWh.

Energy Potentials
Banten has thermal potentials estimated to reach 613 Mwe, scattered in 5 locations namely Rawa Dano, G Karang, G Pulosari, G Endut, and Pamancalan. Coal potentials are estimated to reach 18.80 million tonnes.

Electricity Demand Estimate
It is projected that demand for electricity in Banten for the period 2012-2031 shall grow averagely by 7.8% per year so that in 2031 electricity need is expected to reach 32.5 TWh. To fulfill peak utilization growth of averagely 7.5% per year until 2031, then additional power of averagely 521 MW per year shall be needed.
