JAKARTA CAPITAL CITY SPECIAL REGION ELECTRICITY SUPPLY PLAN

          For those who are interested in developing power plants in Jakarta Capital City Special Region, I would like to share the following points with regard to the above subject. Hoping that they would be of use. Warm regards. 

Electricity Condition
          Demand for electricity in Jakarta Capital City Special Region is mainly supplied by Java-Bali interconnection system through Extra High Voltage Air Channel (500 kV) and High Voltage Air Channel (150 kV and 70 kV) networks. Besides that, it is also supplied by some local Steam Power Plants, Gas Power Plants, Steam and Gas Power Plants, and some Diesel Power Plants. Peak utilization in 2011 reached 4,386.71 MW.
          Total installed capacity of power plants in Jakarta Capital City Special Region up to 2011 was 3,009.66 MW consisting of Steam Power Plants 500.00 MW, Gas Power Plants 52.00 MW, Steam and Gas Power Plants 2,441.58 MW, and Diesel Power Plants 16,08 MW. Total electricity sale for Jakarta Capital City Special Region in 2011 reached 35,061 GWh.

Energy Potentials
          There is no primary energy potential in Jakarta Capital City Special Region.

Electricity Demand Estimate
          It is estimated that demand for electricity in Jakarta Capital City Special Region in the period 2012-2031 shall grow averagely by 10.6% per year so that in 2031 electricity need shall reach 259.8 TWh. To fulfill peak utilization growth of averagely around 10.4% per year until 2031, then additional power of averagely around 2,181 MW per year shall be needed.
