BANGKA BELITUNG ELECTRICITY SUPPLY PLAN

For those who are interested in developing power plants in Bangka Belitung, I would like to share the following points with regard to the above subject. Hopefully they would be of use. Warm regards.

Electricity Condition
Electricity system in Bangka Belitung consists of two isolated system, namely Bangka System and Belitung System. Peak utilization in 2011 reached 125.58 MW. Total installed capacity of power plants in  Bangka Belitung up to 2011 was 219.82 MW consisting of Steam Power Plants 7 MW and Diesel Power Plants 212.82 MW. Total electricity sale for Bangka Belitung in 2011 reached 536 GWh.                   

Energy Potentials
Bangka Belitung has thermal potentials estimated to reach 75 MWe scattered in 3 locations, namely Sungai Liat, Pangkal Pinang, and Air Tembaga.                           

Electricity Demand Estimate 
It is projected that demand for electricity in Bangka Belitung for the period 2012–2031 shall grow by 14.9% per year so that in 2031 electricity need is expected to reach 8.40 TWh. To fulfill estimated peak utilization growth of averagely around 14.6% per year until 2031, then additional power of averagely around 133 MW per year shall be needed.
