For those who are engaged in power plants development, I would like to share the following points with regard to the above subject. Warm regards.
Electricity Condition
Demand for electricity in North Maluku is supplied
by
some
isolated
systems namely Ternate, Soa Siu, Weda, Bacan, Dofa, Jailolo, Sanana,
Tobelo, Subaim, Maba-Buli, Patani, and Sofifi systems. Peak utilization in 2011 reached 38.40 MW.
Total installed
capacity of power
plants in North Maluku up to 2011 was 164.19 MW, all Diesel Power Plants. Total electricity sale
for
North
Maluku in 2011
reached 205 GWh.
Energy Potentials
North Maluku is estimated to have thermal potentials of 427 MWe in 13 locations
namely
Mamuya, Ibu, Akelamo, Jailolo, Keibesi, Akesahu, Indari, Labuha, Songa -Wayaua,
Kramat Islands, Losseng Islands, Auponia Islands, and Bruokol Islands. Coal potentials are
estimated to reach 2.13 million tonnes.
Electricity Demand
Estimate
It is projected that demand
for electricity in North Maluku for
the period 2012-2031 shall grow averagely by 17.2% per
year so that in 2031 electricity need is expected to
reach
4.8 TWh.
To fulfill peak
utilization growth of averagely around
16.9% per
year until 2031, then additional power of
averagely 65 MW
per year shall be needed.
